Round 2!
Just typed a lovely blog, only to have my computer freeze up causing me to be forced to write a second lovely blog. *lol* I guess all I can do is laugh about it.
I intended to write this yesterday evening, however, complications with the computer wouldn't allow that. So, here I am today, writing about yesterday!
On new years eve my mothers washer broke down. They went to purchase another one and my father insisted on going to "sears and roebuck" where I am sure he payed twice what he could have at a best buy. He's so old fashioned though and only trusts Kenmore name brand which is only sold by Sears. I still think he's crazy but I had to document this. I want to be sure to tell my children that any other name brand but kenmore MUST be the devil!!
First thing Saturday morning, January 1st, we get to hear a yankee doodle dandy tune. I think its possibly my cell phone because at times it seems to blurt out random ring tones I have never heard nor programed it to play. But no, it was in fact the new KENMORE washer letting us know the cycle was complete. I was unsure if the catchy toons it played was really going to help our clothes get any cleaner. When i put my clothes on I was hoping that i would feel like busting out in a chorus line from the sound of music! But, sadly, nothing really magical happened. (Kind of disappointing) The clothes were clean though, so I guess that's a plus!
Since there isn't much to do in a small town on the first of January we decided to go to wheeling and spend the day in the highlands. We called Tony Dodd, a good friend of ours, and asked him if he wanted to go Cabelas. Of course he did since Cabelas is like Disney Land to rednecks. I failed miserably on my photo 365 challenge because first thing we had to do upon leaving was turn around two miles later and go home. I forgot my camera! So I got an "F" in the "Never leave your camera behind" department!
We rocked out to the radio that seemed to play the cheesiest songs the whole trip. After what seemed like forever we made it into wheeling and had lunch at Cheddars. It was kind of a funny experience. We kept ourselves occupied by trying to figure if our waitress was in fact a crystal meth tweaker geeker. She definitely had been smoking something but what is still unclear to us.
Cabellas was overly crowded and even there sale items seemed pretty high. But after driving almost two hours to get there though of course we spent to much and got hit by two many carts while doing it. I did get dad an awesome pair of house shoes. Now he has no excuse to wear his doc martins European style! We also visited some other stores and I did find Jayson's books we've been searching for. (He likes westerns by J.A.Johnstone which seem to never be in stock in our local book stores.) I didn't take any pictures in wheeling though. I spent alot of time getting elbowed and hit with shopping carts. If I were a potato head I would have definitely had my angry eyebrows on!
The trip home always seems faster then the trip there. After arriving home we spent the evening with my niece Nickie, her husband Ray, Beaner, & Hungfooey. (The children) Ray gave Tim a hair cut and did a way better job then I could have done. Now he wont have to walk his mom down the isle looking like duck butt, which by the way is a HUGE plus! Since the computer acted up I didn't get to do my evening blog. So this has been January 1st on January 2nd... a day late and a lot of dollars short!!
Now on to January 2nd... opperation make wedding decorations. Destination: Parkersburg WV!
The Yankee Doddle Washer...
I was hoping to have lots of "bounce" in my step!
Made by Sears and Roebuck... incase you didn't know!
I think moms washer describes me... normal, casual, sadly bulky these days *lol*
@ 1:11 P.M. January 1st we were entering wheeling. If I could post this bigger you would be able to see that!
Dad's new cabela house slippers! I think they took his breath away because he's using his oxygen!
If you could smell this picture it would smell soooo good! Bath and bodyworks and moms chooka booths would be jealous of dads cabela shoes if I hadn't put them on here too. Now I will always remember that on January 1st I smelled like country apples!
January 1st in Pictures!
